GREEN LIGHT FOR RETAIL AND WELLNESS BUILDING AT MELBOURNE QUARTER

Building and laneway set to connect Collins and Flinders Streets.

Melbourne Quarter has reached another planning approval milestone, with a boutique retail and wellness building given the green light in this $2.9bn precinct.

Bespoke in its design, the boutique building which will be located on a new city laneway complements the amenity of Melbourne Quarter’s three commercial office towers, whilst acting as a wellness hub designed to enrich life for users of the precinct. It will offer retail, dining, boutique office, childcare and allied health services.

At street level, the new lane, inspired by Melbourne’s unique laneways, will introduce fun and flirty micro tenancies to form a food and beverage ‘eat street’.

The building has been passionately designed by internationally acclaimed Melbourne architects John Wardle Architects, with archways inspired by local icons such as Banana Alley and international structures in London, Paris and Venice. The new lane will not only act as a connector between Collins and Flinders Streets but will also emulate the scale and character of a typical Melbourne laneway.
